The humble caesar salad.
One balmy Italian night, the great Roman leader was feeling peckish, but slightly porky.
He had received word from the court doctor (Dr Atkins don’t you know), that he had to deny himself what was commonly called “ye olde carbs”.
He asked his personal chef, Cardini, to make him a tasty meal that met with Dr Atkins’ instructions.
Cardini delivered of course, and Caesar lived happily ever after, until he was viciously stabbed by 60 or so of his work colleagues.
But that’s another story altogether…
